The Marcus Maurer Clinical Research Award honors outstanding clinical research in the field of mast cell-driven diseases, including urticaria, angioedema, mastocytosis, and related conditions.

Marcus Maurer’s groundbreaking work has fundamentally shaped our understanding of urticaria, angioedema, and mastocytosis transforming them from poorly understood conditions into areas of dynamic scientific progress and therapeutic innovation.
As the founder of urticaria network e.V. (UNEV), he established a global platform for collaboration, data sharing, and patient-centered research that continues to drive clinical and translational progress.
His tireless dedication remains an inspiration to a new generation of researchers.
About UNEV
Founded in the early 2000s, UNEV is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the research and understanding of mast cell-mediated diseases.
Through the development and coordination of international registries and platforms such as the Chronic Urticaria Registry (CURE),
the Chronic Angioedema Registry (CARE), and MASTLINK, the registration and data management platform for users of the MASTHAVE® app, UNEV enables high-quality,
real-world evidence generation to improve disease characterization, monitor therapeutic response, and ultimately enhance patient care.
Eligibility
Applicants should be actively involved in UNEV-related activities, including participation in one or more of UNEV’s registries, databases, or research platforms.
Submission
Applications must include:
- A brief cover letter outlining the applicant’s involvement with UNEV
- A copy of the clinical research work (published or submitted for publication)
- A short CV (max. 2 pages)

The deadline for submissions and further details regarding the award ceremony will be announced on the UNEV website and
shared via the UCARE/ACARE/MAST2CARE and GUF networks.
